Executive Team


Jeffrey Levitt
Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Founder
As the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Precyse Solutions, Jeffrey Levitt oversees worldwide operations for Precyse, including the strategic and financial direction of the company.  With over 30 years experience in the healthcare industry, Mr. Levitt’s strategic leadership capabilities and expertise ensures that Precyse remains uniquely positioned to continue its rapid growth in the industry and that all clients are served exceptionally well.

Prior to founding Precyse in 1999, Mr. Levitt was instrumental in the development and general management of Johnson Rents, a regional durable medical equipment company, Foster Medical Corporation, a public company roll-up of durable medical equipment companies; Heritage Health Systems, Inc., a roll-up of health maintenance organizations; and Orthopedic Services, Inc., a public company roll-up of artificial limb and brace providers. Mr. Levitt was also a founding director of NovaCare, Inc., a public company roll-up of physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy providers to the long term care industry that went public in 1986. Mr. Levitt sold Orthopedic Services to NovaCare in 1992 and remained with that company until 1994, after which time he became a private investor.
Mr. Levitt graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and obtained his law degree from Villanova University. He is both an attorney and certified public accountant.


Carl Bertrams
Corporate Vice President of Sales
As the Corporate Vice President of Sales for Precyse Solutions, Carl Bertrams is responsible for overseeing the development and management of the Precyse sales team. With over 15 years experience, his strategic expertise spans a wide range of areas and segments within the health information management industry.

Prior to joining Precyse, Mr. Bertrams was the former National Sales Manager, Compliance Solutions for 3M Health Information Systems. Mr. Bertrams’ prior positions include Senior Vice President, Sales and Business Development for Info-X; Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Payerpath, a provider of Internet-based financial transaction solutions for physicians and payers; Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Omega Health Systems; and Vice President and national account management positions with CMC Technologies, Health Communication Services and NDCHealth.

Mr. Bertrams received his Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Production Operations and Procurement/Materials Management, as well as his MBA with a specialization in Management Information Systems, from Bowling Green State University (Ohio).


Pamela Goans
Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
As Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Precyse Solutions, Pamela Goans oversees transcription operations and is responsible for extending Precyse’s superior technological capabilities in health information management throughout the country.  In this position, she strives to continually improve the quality of service Precyse offers its clients, drawing upon the PrecyseNet™ platform.

Ms. Goans joined Precyse Solutions in October 2000 first as Area General Manager and was then promoted to Group Vice President of Transcription. In 1988, Ms. Goans joined NovaCare, Inc. first as a manager and rose through the ranks to become Regional President of the Southeast Region for the company. Ms. Goans is a licensed physical therapist and served in clinical and managerial roles at Vanderbilt University Hospital.

Ms. Goans graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy.  She is a member of ACHE and APTA


Robert Healy
Executive Vice President
As Executive Vice President, Robert Healy is responsible for managing the overall operating organization and resources at Precyse Solutions. With over 30 years of an extensive background in business and finance, his expertise makes him a strong contributor to the continued growth and success of Precyse. Mr. Healy’s accomplishments at Precyse have made a dramatic impact on the success of the Company.

Prior to joining Precyse in 2003, Mr. Healy was Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of Music Choice, a service provider of commercial free music to cable and satellite television customers. He began his career with Price Waterhouse, leaving in 1981 to become Assistant Controller for Atcor, Inc., a manufacturing and distribution organization. In 1988 Mr. Healy joined NovaCare as Vice President, Controller and progressed to serve as Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration & Chief Financial Officer from 1995 through 2000. During his tenure at NovaCare, Mr. Healy helped build the company from $60 million to $1.9 billion.

Mr. Healy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Notre Dame and is a CPA, certified in Pennsylvania . He is a member of AICPA, HFMA, AHIMA, ACHE and is on the Board of FORE at AHIMA.


Karen Heisler
Corporate Vice President, Human Resources
Karen Heisler serves as Corporate Vice President of Human Resources at Precyse Solutions. In this role, Ms. Heisler assumes a senior-leadership role where she provides strategic direction for the human resources function. She oversees all recruiting, benefits and compensation administration, employee relations and employee development for the 1,200 employee company. With over 25 years of human resources experience including 15 years of healthcare experience, Ms. Heisler is an expert in her discipline. With impressive industry experience and background and expertise in the HR field, she accelerates the growth of Precyse as she leads and develops the Human Resources team.

Prior to joining Precyse in 2008, Ms. Heisler served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Administration at Pegasus Communications. She also spent time at Comcast Cellular Communications as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and eventually transitioned to Comcast Cable Communications where she became Vice President of Learning and Development and helped launch Comcast University. Ms. Heisler began her career in the healthcare field working at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, followed by thirteen years at Episcopal Hospital.

Ms. Heisler holds a Master’s degree in Management from LaSalle University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Temple University.


Ken Lacy
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer
As the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Precyse Solutions, Ken Lacy is responsible for the formal creation of Precyse’s Product Management function, where he makes further improvements and enhancements to PrecyseNet™ and Precyse’s on line remote coding application, PrecyseCode 2X™, by implementing front-end Automated Speech Recognition (ASR), virtual chart and chart storage. A proven leader of people, ideas and innovation, Mr. Lacy continues to differentiate Precyse’s software platform within the Health Information Technology industry. Mr. Lacy’s expertise has led Precyse to a leadership role in Health Information Management and Technology that reduces operating costs and accelerates revenues for hospitals.

With over 15 years experience in the healthcare information services industry, Mr. Lacy previously served in technical roles at SpectraLogic and HBO & Company, one of the leading healthcare systems developers and systems integrators in the country. From there, he went on to serve as the Vice President for CareCentric Solutions, a software company providing support services to the home health services industry.

Mr. Lacy holds an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master's degree in Business and Health Care Administration from Georgia State University.


James Matas
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
As Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Precyse, James Matas is responsible for the company’s financial functions as well as working closely with shareholders and clients. Mr. Matas is a seasoned veteran with 30 years of financial and business management experience.

Mr. Matas, who joined Precyse in April 2008, has a proven record of leading high performing teams. Since 1999, he worked as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Investor Force Holdings, Inc., a technology start up that provides web-based software to the financial services industry. From 1988 until 1999, Mr. Matas worked for IMS Health, Inc., culminating his tenure there in the role of Chief Financial Officer of the IMS International Division, a $600 million component of a $1.1 billion industry leader in health care information services, servicing the pharmaceutical marketplace. He has also had experience at Foster Medical Corporation and Coopers & Lybrand.

Mr. Matas has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA with a concentration in pharmaceutical marketing from Saint Joseph’s University.  He is a certified public accountant and a registered General Securities Principal, holding various securities trading licenses.


Cheryl Servais, MPH, RHIA
Vice President of Compliance and Privacy Officer
As the Vice President of Compliance and Privacy at Precyse Solutions, Cheryl Servais is an expert in the most recent practices in legal health and electronic health record-keeping. Ms. Servais is at the forefront of HIM best practice, and her work in this industry makes her a valuable player at Precyse Solutions. Ms. Servais has over 30 years of progressive experience in the health care industry and is an experienced professional, dedicated to improving HIM department performance.

Prior to joining Precyse in 2003, Ms. Servais was a consultant, working with companies such as eWebCoding, Heathscribe and Innovative Healthcare Management. She began her career as a Director of Medical Records at St. John’s, Brotman and Holy Cross Hospitals. From 1973 to 1985, Ms. Servais worked as an independent consultant in the HIM field. In 1985, she became a Principal in the firm of Servais Holloway & Associates. Ms. Servais worked with National Medical Enterprises as the Western Division Director of Clinical Data and was promoted to the Assistant Vice President, DRG Management. In 1995, she joined Tenet Healthcare as the Manager of Coding Compliance and was promoted in 1997 to the Manager of Health Information Systems. In 2007, Ms. Servais authored The Legal Health Record, which describes how the legal process applies to electronic health records (EHRs) as well as provides an in-depth discussion on how to establish and maintain the legal EHR.

Ms. Servais earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Records and her MPH in Health Information Systems from UCLA.
