Jeffrey Levitt
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
As the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and Founder of Precyse Solutions,
Jeffrey Levitt sets the strategic direction for the company and oversees
worldwide operations. With over 30 years experience in the healthcare industry,
Mr. Levitt’s leadership capabilities and business expertise are broadly
acknowledged in the marketplace.
In 1999, Mr. Levitt founded Precyse (then-named Capital MT) to explore solutions
whereby technologies such as the Internet and automated speech recognition could
fundamentally change the way healthcare providers document their work. Since
this time, Mr. Levitt has grown the company through acquisition and organic
development.
Previously, Mr. Levitt has built four other companies in the healthcare sector
through acquisition and roll-ups: Johnson Rents, a regional durable medical
equipment company; Foster Medical Corporation, a merger of multiple durable
medical equipment organizations; Heritage Health Systems, Inc., a health
maintenance organization formed by the integration of multiple HMOs; and
Orthopedic Services, Inc., an artificial limb and brace provider. In addition,
Mr. Levitt was a founding director of NovaCare, an entity comprised of physical
therapy and speech therapy providers to the long-term care industry. Orthopedic
Services was sold to NovaCare in 1992, and Mr. Levitt remained with NovaCare
until 1994, at which time he became a private investor.
A graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Levitt
holds a B.S. degree in Economics and later obtained a law degree from Villanova
University. He is both an attorney and CPA.
Pamela Goans
Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer of Precyse Solutions, Pamela Goans oversees Business
Development and Operations for all of Precyse’s technology and service offerings
which include transcription, remote coding, HIM consulting and outsourcing. A
25-year veteran of the healthcare industry, Ms. Goans has served in clinical and
executive roles for a variety of care delivery organizations.
Ms. Goans joined Precyse in 2000 as an Area General Manager and was subsequently
promoted to Vice President of Transcription Operations. In 2004 she assumed the
role of Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Precyse, Ms. Goans was with
NovaCare, Inc., serving as Regional Vice President after holding other
leadership positions throughout her 12 years with the organization.
Ms. Goans also has served in clinical and managerial roles at Vanderbilt
University Hospital.
A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Ms. Goans holds a B.S. degree in
Physical Therapy and is a member of ACHE and APTA.
Ken Lacy
Chief Information Officer
As the Chief Technology Officer at Precyse Solutions, Ken Lacy is
responsible for setting the technology direction for the Company’s product
offerings and internal systems and oversees the development, implementation, and
customer support teams.
Mr. Lacy has over 15 years of experience in the healthcare information services
industry.
Mr. Lacy joined Precyse in 2000 as Chief Information Officer. Mr. Lacy
previously served in technical leadership roles at SpectraLogic and HBO &
Company (now McKesson). In addition, Mr. Lacy served as Vice President for
CareCentric Solutions, a software company providing support services to the home
health services industry.
A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Mr. Lacy holds a B.S. degree
in electrical engineering and a M.S. degree in Business and Health Care
Administration from Georgia Institute of Technology.
James Matas
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer of Precyse, James Matas is responsible for the
company’s financial functions and contract processes, working closely with
clients, suppliers, and shareholders. Mr. Matas is a seasoned veteran with 30
years of financial and business management experience.
Mr. Matas joined Precyse in 2008 as CFO. Prior to this, Mr. Matas served as
Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Investor Force Holdings,
Inc., a technology start up that provides web-based software to the financial
services industry. Earlier, Mr. Matas worked for IMS Health, Inc., culminating
his tenure there in the role of Chief Financial Officer of the IMS International
Division. He has also has worked for Foster Medical Corporation and Coopers &
Lybrand.
A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Mr. Matas holds a B.S. degree
in Accounting and has earned an MBA with a concentration in pharmaceutical
marketing from Saint Joseph’s University. He is a CPA and a registered General
Securities Principal, holding various securities trading licenses.
Robert Turk
Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Communications
As Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Robert
Turk is responsible for all marketing strategy and company-wide initiatives. Mr.
Turk has over 18 years of marketing leadership experience in the medical,
healthcare, life sciences, and biotechnology markets.
Mr. Turk joined Precyse in 2009, having previously held marketing and business
development leadership positions at Siemens Corporation for 12 years. While at
Siemens, Mr. Turk served as Director of Managed Healthcare Services for Siemens
Medical Solutions, Director of Strategic Accounts, and Director of Marketing and
Business Development for Siemens One. Mr. Turk exceeded quotes and targets in
all roles, most notably for Siemens One where he helped to grow the business in
a remarkable four-year span from $173M in year one to $1.32B in year four, 2005.
During his career, he has also worked for the American Hospital Association, the
Healthcare Safety Institute and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Mr. Turk earned a B.S. in
Environmental Health and then later received a MBA and Certificate of Health
Systems Management from Case Western Reserve University. He is a member of HIMSS,
HFMA, and ACHE and serves on a variety of technology and market strategy
advisory boards.
Cheryl Servais, MPH, RHIA
Vice President of Compliance and Privacy Officer
As the Vice President of Compliance and Privacy Officer at Precyse Solutions,
Cheryl Servais is responsible for planning, designing, implementing and
maintaining corporate-wide compliance programs. In addition, Ms. Servais ensures
that all of the company’s processes and activities protect the privacy of
patient and provider information and that all of Precyse’s products comply with
privacy and security standards. Ms. Servais has served in this role since she
joined the company in 2003.
Ms. Servais has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry and
is a recognized thought leader on the topic of the legal aspects of electronic
health records , Recovery Audit Contractors, and the establishment of a virtual
health information management department. Prior to joining Precyse, Ms. Servais
worked nationally as a consultant, engaged by companies such as eWebCoding,
Heathscribe and Innovative Healthcare Management. Ms. Servais also served as
Manager of Health Information Systems for Tenet Healthcare and as Western
Division Director of Clinical Data for National Medical Enterprises.
In 2007, Ms. Servais co-authored The Legal Health Record, a book that examines
how the legal process applies to EHRs and provides an in-depth discussion on how
to establish and maintain a legal EHR.
A graduate of UCLA, Ms. Servais holds a B.S. degree in Health Records and a MPH
degree in Health Information Systems.
Karen Heisler
Corporate Vice President of Human Resources
Karen Heisler serves as Corporate Vice President of Human Resources at
Precyse Solutions and is responsible for overseeing all facets of human
resource support to Precyse’s 1200+ employees. In addition, Ms. Heisler has
responsibility for training and matters related to space and facilities. Ms.
Heisler brings over 25 years of human resources experience, including 15
years of healthcare experience, to her role.
Ms. Heisler joined Precyse in 2008 in her current role. Prior to this, Ms.
Heisler served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and
Administration at Pegasus Communications. She also spent time at Comcast
Cellular Communications as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and
at Comcast Cable Communications, where she became Vice President of Learning
and Development and helped launch Comcast University.
Ms. Heisler began her career in the healthcare field working at Thomas
Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, followed by thirteen
years at Episcopal Hospital, also located in Philadelphia.
A graduate of Temple University, Ms. Heisler holds a B.A. degree in
Journalism and then later earned a M.S. degree in Management from LaSalle
University.
